International Honors for Crestview!
Crestview was honored last week at the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association meeting in Long Beach, California. For the last four years, Crestview has immersed itself in Children's Engineering, an innovative way to encourage and increase the students' problem solving skills and critical thinking. Most exciting was that we were the ONLY elementary school to receive this award internationally! See our "Announcements" page for an example of this kind of project.

Congratulations to Crestview's two Destination Imagination teams!
On Saturday, March 3, they competed at the regional level at Deep Run High School. One team was for students in grades K-2, and the other for students in grades 3-5. The 3-5 team, called the Crestview Comet Dudes, came in second place! They had to make a movie trailer about two characters from different countries, and the trailer had to include special effects and an original soundtrack. They will now compete at the state tournament in Crozet, Virginia on March 31. The K-2 team, called the Rockin' Flying Elephants, did such a fantastic job, that they received an invitation to come to states also to show others what they did, even though they won't compete there. Way to go DI teams! We are so proud of you!!
