Superintendent Message

The development of the strategic plan was the most important thing we did in 2010. The plan is the road map for taking our great school division to extraordinary heights. It allows us to set long range goals, with clear measurement targets that focus our work for the next five years.

The Henrico County Schools' strategic plan reflects the collective values and aspirations of our entire community. The first stage of the process involved a steering committee of 31 members representing a cross section of our schools and community. This group revisited the school division belief statements and mission, and established parameters for making decisions based on the beliefs. The steering committee also established seven broad goals and objectives that drive the division toward meeting the mission.

We have developed the details of the plan and will work to complete the action plans and objectives as we move toward achieving each goal.

We will continue to need the help and support of our entire school community to make our strategic plan the vehicle that will propel us to extraordinary heights. Please consider taking an active role and stay informed as we move toward being The Premier school division in the United States.
