Each and every day, kids throughout Henrico schools are volunteering to make their communities a better place to live and their schools a better place to learn. Through Kids 4 Kindness, we are celebrating those special students who give so much to others. Sarah Castillo races into the hearts of everyone she meets. She has run races for charity since she was 4 years old. And to date, this Skipwith second-grader has participated in five races to help others. “It makes me feel really good to help,” Castillo said. “My granny tells me all the time that it’s a good thing to do.” Castillo’s giving personality shows on and off the racetrack. “Sarah is probably one of the most generous students I’ve had,” said her teacher Darcie Anderson. “She is always looking to brighten someone’s day. She is a very hard worker and always does her best to help others.” |
