Kids 4 Kindness

Each and every day, kids throughout Henrico schools are volunteering to make their communities a better place to live and their schools a better place to learn. Through Kids 4 Kindness, we are celebrating those special students who give so much to others.

Cameron SableCameron Sable is quite the helper around Byrd Middle School. He always makes sure the school is “In the Know” by making sure the TVs around the school are on and tuned in to the right station. Technology is a major interest of his, and so is giving back.

Cameron has helped to clean up Bryan Park by picking up trash and beautifying it in other ways, and he has even written out cards for seniors at the Jewish Community Center.

“It’s pretty easy to help people,” Cameron said. “It’s kind of a given.”

But the thing about Cameron that stands out the most is his want to be kind to others and stand up for those who won’t or can’t stand up for themselves. Teachers and faculty at Byrd just can’t say enough about how big Cameron’s heart is. He is the type of person who looks out for his friends and cares for those around him.

“It’s not fair for people to get away with being mean,” Cameron said.

Cameron didn’t mind sharing some credit with his parents for how he has turned out. According to him, they were a big help in making him the kind person he is today.

“If I’m a nice person, I will get to do more later on in life,” Cameron said
