After successfully completing the Practical Nurse program, graduates are eligible to take the national licensing examination to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN's) may be employed by hospitals, doctors' offices, public health agencies, nursing homes, insurance companies, or other industries with health-related interests.

Graduates who qualify for admission to the J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College registered nurse program may be awarded advanced credit for one or more nursing courses at the college.
