Seniors, are you struggling with how to prepare to search for colleges? Are you unaware of the differences between the colleges and universities on your list? Would you like to find out more information BEFORE visiting?  Look no further. Your source for knowledge is here at Varina High School. College representatives from the east coast will visit Varina High during the school year to provide information about their college, the application process, deadlines and financial aid.

Dates and times of visits are posted below and are announced on the morning and afternoon announcements.  Listen carefully to find out if your college/university will be visiting soon! To attend you must sign up in advance in the School Counseling office and a pass will be sent to you to guarantee your attendance.  We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to help make an informed decision about your post secondary education.

Employer Visits

Each year our students inquire about employment opportunities that they can embark on after they graduate - prior to going to college, or the military and or during the school year as a part time job.  Some students also search for summer employment only or a full time job. To assist our students we will be asking area employers to visit the campus to inform the students of the application process, criteria, etc. to obtain employment with their company.  We hope this will help all students gain the financial edge that will assist them in accomplishing all of their future goals.

This year we will also be hosting our annual Career Fair to assist our seniors in obtaining employment after high school. This was a huge success last year we are very excited to host it again bigger and better than ever!
