2012 Baccalaureate Information
The VHS Class of 2012 Baccalaureate Ceremony will be held Sunday, June 10 at 4 p.m. in the VHS Auditorium. The ceremony is sponsored by the VHS Parent Teacher Student Association, and there will be a reception immediately following in the cafeteria. This will be the final opportunity students will have to fellowship with their classmates prior to graduation, and I encourage all seniors and their families to attend. The reception that follows will only be made possible with the generous donations and support of our parents/guardians and teachers. As we are a non-profit organization, all donations to the VHS PTSA are tax deductible.
We need refreshments as well as monetary donations. If you are willing and able to donate, please contact Donna Roots at Garrison_D@msn.com
I also need persons to serve on the Hospitality Committee (set up cafeteria Friday, June 8 at 6 p.m., receive food donations Sunday June 10 at 2:30 in cafeteria, or food service and assist with clean up).

Parents and students – Spring is in full bloom, with this comes pollen/allergens and bees. If your child has Asthma or is Allergic to Bee Stings, please make sure they have their emergency medication (inhaler/epi-pen) available in the school clinic.
Silence Hurts is for reporting information anonymously. It is designed to keep students safe from bullying, drugs, suicide, gangs, violence, and any other threat to students safety.
Silence Hurts is not monitored in real-time. Your anonymous message will be sent to multiple administrators which will be viewed during school hours. If this matter involves the immediate risk of injury or is life-threatening, then you should call 911.

 Tech Tips resource for easy access to technology instructions.
Registration is now open for the 3rd annual Blue Devil Dash 5K Run/Walk and Kids’ Fun Run on Saturday, Oct. 8th at Varina High School. The event is sponsored by Varina High School and seeks to promote health and wellness, while raising funds for student activities, campus beautification and school safety. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and will include both a timed 5K run/walk on a flat course that starts and ends at the school and a one-mile kids’ fun run. Trophies will be awarded to top finishers in all age categories as well as to overall finishers. In addition to an exciting opportunity to celebrate and support the Varina community, this year we are offering a 10-week training camp to help you and your family prepare for this exciting race. The first training session is this Saturday, July 30th at 7 a.m. on the Varina High School track.
