The division of instruction is responsible for educating each and every student within the county of Henrico, equipping them with the tools necessary to succeed in today's global economy. From our pre-kindergarten to our senior high school students, this division works daily to ensure excellence in the "total" child through rigorous classroom instruction, relevant information, and supportive and stable relationships.

In the departments of elementary, secondary and exceptional education, we work to instill 21st century skills in all students. Our school system desires for all students to:

  • Graduate upon completion of the Henrico County Public School curriculum that exceeds state and national standards

  • Develop life skills for individual success and total well-being

  • Graduate prepared to be self-sustaining and competitive as they pursue their personal aspirations

  • Become responsible and effective users of technology
